Congratulations to Team ManuVera and Team ScopeEase from Department of Biomedical Engineering, BUET on being selected as semi-finalists in this years Rice360 Global Health Technologies Design Competition!
The event organized by the Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies will be held on April 11, 2025, at Rice University, Houston, Texas, bringing together student teams from around the world to present low-cost, impactful health technologies for resource-limited settings.
Team ManuVera will present their project on a Nitinol Actuator-Based Prosthetic Arm, developed to provide an affordable and functional solution for upper-limb amputees. The team includes Sunaina Rahman Adisha, Afroza Yesmin Isha, and Rudmila Nizam, under the supervision of Shoyad Ibn Sabur Khan Nuhash, Lecturer, BME, BUET.
Team ScopeEase will showcase their project on an Affordable Video Laryngoscope for Resource-Constrained Settings, designed to improve airway management in under-resourced healthcare environments. The team members are Galib Anjum Talukder Mahi, Imdadul Haque Sourov, and Mehedi Hasan Nirzan, mentored by Abdullah Al Mamun, Lecturer, BME, BUET.
