The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organized a workshop on “Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in Outcomes-Based Engineering Education” on October 13, 2022, for faculty members of the department of Biomedical Engineering. The session began with a welcome lecture by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tarik Arafat, head of the department of BME. It was led by Prof. Dr. Anisul Haque, professor in the department of EEE at East West University (EWU).

The workshop’s main goals were to conceptualize outcome-based education (OBE) and the curriculum; appropriate outcome-based assessment techniques; Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI); the process of calibrating the OBE standards with the existing curriculum; and develop a template for the OBE curriculum in accordance with UGC guidelines. It also included a Q&A session to address the participants’ concerns.
