Shams Nafisa Ali gets the Honda Young Engineer and Scientists’ (Y-E-S) Award

Shams Nafisa Ali (BME’16), a young faculty member at BME-BUET, has been awarded the Honda Young Engineer and Scientists’ (Y-E-S) Award 2021. (Bangladesh). The program, administered by the Honda Foundation and JICE, aims to encourage future leaders in science and technology fields to spearhead the future growth of Asian countries.

She has been honored with a $3000 scholarship in this program. In addition, she is now eligible for an additional grant of up to $10,000 under the Honda Y-E-S Award Plus program if she continues her education and training within four years of receiving the Honda Y-E-S Award through master’s, doctoral, or study abroad programs in Japanese universities in Japan, or through internship programs in Japanese research organizations or private companies in Japan that have been approved by the Honda Foundation.
