Research Interests

Digital signal and multimedia processing, statistical modeling of signal and images, multi-resolution transform-based algorithms for compression, denoising, watermarking, enhancement, segmentation and fusion of images, processing of physiological signals (e.g.EEG, ECoG, EMG and ECG) for detecting various abnormalities  such as seizure and sleep disorder, and for brain-computer interface, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and medical image denoising, medical imaging, neural networks in signal and image processing, neuron modeling, biometrics, video processing, signal processing in genomics, telecommunication, control and power systems.
